Kofi Oppong and Urban MBA: Empowering the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
I first met Kofi Oppong, founder of Urban MBA, through my long-time collaborator and friend Antonio Amado of Graff Digital Arts. Antonio knew that our shared focus on creativity, education, and entrepreneurship would make for an inspiring connection — and he was right.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with Kofi and his team at Urban MBA on several occasions, including delivering a games careers talk for visiting Year 10 students from a local school. The session gave young people a glimpse into the world of game development — how games are made, what skills are needed, and how creative thinking translates into careers.
That day summed up everything Urban MBA stands for: access, opportunity, and empowerment. It’s a place where young people can connect with industries that once seemed out of reach and gain the confidence to build their own futures.

Kofi Oppong – Full Biography
Kofi Oppong is the visionary founder of Urban MBA, an innovative educational charity transforming the landscape of entrepreneurship education. With over two decades of corporate experience spanning project management and brand development, Kofi has channelled his expertise into creating pathways for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, Urban MBA has become a catalyst for change, delivering a Bachelor’s Level 6 programme alongside comprehensive 6-week and 12-week enterprise programmes that have educated more than 600 students. His hands-on teaching approach has directly mentored over 60 young entrepreneurs, helping them transform their business aspirations into reality.
Drawing from his extensive corporate background, Kofi designed Urban MBA to bridge the gap between traditional education and practical business acumen. The organisation serves both young innovators and career changers, providing them with the tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to launch their own successful ventures.
As a passionate advocate for accessible business education, Kofi has established Urban MBA as more than just a training programme – it’s a launching pad for the next generation of business leaders. His commitment to empowering others through practical business education continues to shape the future of entrepreneurship in urban communities.

Innovation at the Heart of Urban MBA
Under Kofi’s leadership, Urban MBA has evolved into much more than an educational programme — it’s become a creative hub for young innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.
Beyond its formal curriculum, the Urban MBA building regularly hosts events that bring together education, creativity, and industry collaboration. These include AI innovation sessions, 3D printing workshops, and fashion showcases that highlight the intersection between business and culture.
One standout event saw Urban MBA partner with a talent agency to host a panel featuring the director and cast of the Netflix series “Supa Cell.” It was a powerful moment — young aspiring actors and filmmakers getting the chance to hear directly from professionals about breaking into creative industries and navigating their own journeys.
Collaboration and Shared Vision
Working with Kofi on the Year 10 careers talk reminded me of how vital mentorship and accessibility are to nurturing future talent. His hands-on approach brings industries like gaming, media, and technology closer to the communities that need them most.
Through Urban MBA, Kofi creates spaces where young people don’t just learn business theory — they experience it, apply it, and see it in action. It’s that practical, people-first mindset that makes Urban MBA stand apart from traditional education routes.
While we’ve also collaborated on a few unannounced, game-related projects (which we’ll keep under wraps for now), every experience working with Kofi reinforces the same truth: real change happens when creativity and opportunity meet.
A Force for Community Impact
Kofi’s influence extends beyond the classroom. Through Urban MBA, he’s helping redefine what entrepreneurship looks like in urban communities — empowering individuals who might otherwise have been overlooked by traditional systems.
His commitment to inclusive education ensures that students not only gain business knowledge but also learn confidence, leadership, and self-belief — skills that last a lifetime.
Urban MBA continues to grow as a beacon for accessible business education, showing what’s possible when passion meets purpose.
Final Thoughts
Kofi Oppong isn’t just building a programme — he’s building a movement. His work through Urban MBA is shaping the next generation of business leaders, creators, and innovators who will define the future of the UK’s creative industries.
For Aero Astro Arts, it’s been an honour to collaborate with Kofi — both as a partner and as a friend — on initiatives that inspire young people to see games, technology, and entrepreneurship not as distant dreams, but as real, achievable paths.
